IATA approved carriers to transport your dog abroad. Safe in car carriers to transport your dog with you in your vehicle.
A dog carrier is an essential item for all dog owners. Whether it is to safely transport your dog to the kennel, vet or on holiday it is important that your dog is correctly restrained, especially in a moving vehicle. In the event of an accident if your dog is not correctly secured they can sustain seriuous injury. An accident can be made more likely by having a small dog running round the car and getting under the pedals, or a larger dog giving affectionate kisses and dribbling down your neck while you try to concentrate on the road ahead.
There are several styles, materials and sizes of dog carriers to choose from. Make sure your carrier is made of strong, easy to clean materials. If you intend to take your dog on an aeroplane it must meet the airlines compliance standards (we stock IATA approved carriers). If you are going on a long journey you may wish to include food/water for your dog, and it is possible to get special spill resistant clip dishes in our shop for this purpose. It should have a secure fastening mechanism, and should be large enough to accommodate your pet for the journey in comfort.
Our top tips for getting your dog used to their carrier: It can be immensely stressful for a dog, having never seen a carrier to be shoved in it and packaged into the car for the holidays. We suggest that you buy the carrier well in advance and encourage the dog to get used to it (eg by putting treats or toys inside while it is in the house and letting him/her sleep inside)
